How to Fish: All 48 Creatures, Prices & Bait

How to Fish has 48 creatures. This table lists island, base price, bait, weight, and HP. Use the filters to narrow by island or boss status. The default order follows story progression, then base sale price from low to high. Creature names match the names shown in the game.

Drip is a rare alternate-skin variant of a normal catch (about 1% when hooked, rainbow catch text). Traditional Chinese calls it 真・潮系 / 真・潮系生物; Steam achievements use 極品. It is not a separate species in this table, and it is not a tide mechanic. Spend extras in the Reel of Fortune for skins. Gambling and skins
The table shows each creature’s base sale price. Trick-shot bonuses and grilling can increase the final amount. Game updates may change these values.
A dash under “Usable bait” means the creature can be caught without equipping bait. The no-bait shore pool is Brown Crab, Shrimp, Gar, and Mackerel.

How to read this table

  • Base sale price is before individual weight, grilling, roulette, and Killscore.
  • Base weight is the species value. Each catch can be lighter or heavier; press F on the held creature to see its actual weight.
  • Drip / 真・潮系 is a rare reskin of a normal catch, not a 49th species and not a tide mechanic.
  • Health is the solo Normal-difficulty value. Easy uses 75%, Hard 125%; boss health also rises with player count.

Endangered catches and the Desert carrot

Some creatures show an Endangered Species prompt when hooked. On Desert Island the tourist trades a carrot for a normal (non-Drip) endangered Seahorse, Needlefish, or Bowlfish. A Drip / 真・潮系 reskin does not count. Blue Shark is a separate grill unlock, not this trade. Bing Bong on Rocks Island is also endangered and is caught with a Coconut.

Common items that are not in the 48

  • Clams on the Lighthouse beach sell for $1 each and can be eaten.
  • Leeches are tiny land pickups on Forest Island. Collect 3 and trade them for Leech Bait; they are not in the water.
  • Seagulls steal catches and downed players. They can be killed and sold. They are not a fishing-rod catch.
What does weight do?
The table shows the species’ base weight, not the visual size of its model. Each creature you catch can be lighter or heavier; hold it and press F to see its actual weight. Within the same species, a heavier catch has a proportionally higher base sale price. For example, if the table lists 10 kg and $100, a 12 kg catch is worth about $120 before other bonuses.

Health (HP) is the base value for one player on Normal difficulty — the total damage needed to kill that creature. Easy uses 75% health and Hard uses 125%; boss health also increases when more players are in the lobby. Patch 1.0.10 slightly reduced Anglerfish health without publishing a new number; the table still shows the pre-patch value of 650.

Quick answers

How many creatures are in How to Fish?

48, counting the story bosses. The table lists island, base sale price, weight, bait and HP for every one of them.

What is the most expensive fish in How to Fish?

The Pufferfish has the highest base price at $12,000, followed by the Giant Piranha at $11,000 and the Spider Crab at $10,000. Base price is multiplied by weight, grill (1.5×), roulette and killscore before you sell.

What is Drip (真・潮系)?

A rare alternate-skin variant of a normal catch, about 1% when hooked, shown with rainbow catch text. It is not a separate species, and some NPC trades reject Drip variants.

Where do I find each creature?

The island column shows the first island where the creature appears; several species also spawn on later islands. Each island page lists what is available there.

Do sale prices change with patches?

Yes. The values here match patch 1.0.12 and are updated when the developer publishes new numbers.
