Guide coverage: patches through 1.0.12

How to Fish prices: all 48 creatures

Base sale prices for every creature in the game, from the $12,000 Pufferfish down to the cheapest common fish. The sum of all 48 base prices is $61,298; what you actually receive is base price multiplied by weight, then by the grill, roulette and killscore multipliers.

How the money is calculated

  1. Base price: the number in the table below, taken from patch 1.0.12 values.
  2. Weight: multiplied in, so a heavy specimen of a cheap species can beat a light expensive one.
  3. Grill: cooking multiplies the sale value by 1.5× — worth doing before you sell anything edible.
  4. Roulette and killscore also feed the formula; the full breakdown is on the money page.

Quick answers

What is the most expensive creature in How to Fish?

By base price: the Pufferfish ($12,000), then the Giant Piranha ($11,000), the Spider Crab ($10,000), the Bowhead Whale ($8,000) and the Goblin Shark ($6,200). These are the four main-story bosses plus an optional summon, so the top of the price list is also the hardest to farm.

Does the table show what I actually get when I sell?

No. The table lists base prices. The money you receive is base price multiplied by the creature’s weight, then by the grill (1.5×), the roulette bonus and killscore, which is why the same species can sell for very different amounts.

Why is the Bowhead Whale so cheap for its size?

Base price and weight are separate multipliers. The whale’s base price is $8,000, but its weight value (12,000) is the highest in the game, so the weight multiplier is where the money is.

Do quest items sell for anything?

No. Quest hand-in items have a base sale price of $0 and should be kept: the Spider Crab shell, Giant Piranha skeleton, Pufferfish fin, Albatross head and Whale Fin are all needed to unlock the next island.

Do these numbers match the current patch?

They match patch 1.0.12 (2026-09-04). Balance patches since launch changed creature health — 1.0.4 nerfed the Pufferfish and Whale, 1.0.10 the anglerfish, 1.0.12 the piranha and tuna — so use the patch notes page when health matters.
