Guide coverage: patches through 1.0.12
How to Fish: Casino & Gambling
Gambling is optional and is never required to unlock the next island. The game uses in-game items, not real money. There are two separate machines on this page: roulette multiplies (or destroys) a wagered item’s sale value, and the Reel of Fortune slot machine consumes Drip creatures or extra boss trophies for cosmetic skins.
Where to find it
The main casino is Lucky Bait Casino on Rocks Island, the fourth island. After the Desert Island tourist accepts the Pufferfish fin, follow the boat radar to Rocks, then climb the stairs up the central hill. The red building with the casino sign holds the roulette table and a Reel of Fortune machine in the same room.
Reel of Fortune cabinets also appear on other islands near shops or beaches, so you do not need the casino to start unlocking skins. The Lighthouse beach machine is available from the first island. Later islands reuse the same roulette colors and payouts as Rocks.
Roulette
You wager creatures or items, not cash. The NPC in the casino explains the loop: place anything you are carrying on the table, press the color you want, and the wheel spins. A win applies a sale-value multiplier to every item still on the table; a loss destroys the entire bet. The result stays as the same physical item — you still have to sell it to receive money.
- Hold a spare catch and press Q to drop it onto the green betting surface marked “Place items here.” You can stack several items in the same bet.
- Press F on a held item first if you need its current sale value, including weight, grilling, and Killscore bonuses. Those bonuses are already baked into the number the table is betting.
- Look at the color prompts beside the wheel and press E on black, red, or green. The ball drops as soon as you confirm.
- If you win, pick the item back up and either sell it or leave it on the table for another spin. A second win stacks another multiplier on the same item; a second loss still destroys it.
| Bet | Payout on a win | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Black | 2× | The common even-money color. Hits far more often than green, but a loss still deletes the item. |
| Red | 2× | Same 2× payout as black. Use leftover low-value fish if you only want a chance at doubling. |
| Green | 35× | A single pocket on the wheel, so it is rare. This is the All in achievement and the usual route to a 100,000 sale. |
Green is the high-risk color because there is only one green pocket. Community guides compare that layout to a 37-pocket wheel; the game does not print exact odds in the UI. There is no pity timer. For All in, any winning green bet counts, including a cheap leftover fish.
Turning a win into 100,000
Rich! Millionaire needs a single sold item worth 100,000 or more, not a combined session total. Final sale value is approximately: base price × individual weight × grilling (up to about 1.5×) × roulette × Killscore. After a green win you must still sell the item.
- Tuna has a base sale price of $2,000 on Rocks Island. Grill it near the 1.5× peak, then bet green: 2,000 × 1.5 × 35 is 105,000 before extra weight or Killscore. Finish the Albatross quest before gambling spare Tuna.
- A cheap green win still unlocks All in, but it wastes a rare 35× result if the item cannot reach 100,000 after the multiplier. Save green attempts on grilled high-value catches when you are chasing Millionaire.
- Red and black are safer for small doubles, not for planning a bankroll. Guides that treat them as a true 50/50 ignore the green pocket that eats both colors.
Reel of Fortune slot machine
The Reel of Fortune unlocks cosmetic skins (造型). It does not pay money. Throw an accepted item into the opening above the cabinet; the item is consumed and the player who threw it receives a random skin. In co-op, other players in the lobby do not receive that skin automatically — the casino NPC tells you to share the loot.
What the machine accepts
- A dead Drip creature: a rare visual variant of a normal catch. Traditional Chinese calls this 真・潮系生物 (players sometimes search 潮汐). The hooked-creature prompt uses rainbow text instead of the usual white “Creature Caught” line. Dynamite does not produce Drip variants; you have to catch them on a rod.
- A boss trophy such as a Spider Crab shell, Giant Piranha skeleton, Pufferfish fin, Albatross head, or Whale Fin. Hand the first copy to the quest NPC, then use later duplicates in the machine.
Drip creatures sell for less than the ordinary version of the same species, so they are usually better spent on skins than on the shop. Spending a Drip on the machine does not remove that variant from the journal permanently; Drip catches can be repeated. Killing every Drip variant is a separate collection goal from using them here.
Island skin pools
Each cabinet shows the skins it can roll at the bottom of its screen, and the pool changes by island. Community guides currently report:
- Lighthouse: early melee cosmetics such as Brass Knuckles and Knife. It is usually worth saving your first Drip creatures for later guns.
- Desert: Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, boat, and fishing-rod skins.
- Volcano: the only reported source for Assault Rifle skins.
A reliable farm, if you would rather not wait on Drip RNG, is to return to Lighthouse Island, restock Empty Beer Can bait, and farm extra Spider Crab shells for the machine. Legendary rarity from any accepted spin unlocks GOLD GOLD GOLD; there is no published pity count.
Cosmetic skins (Z / C)
After a skin unlocks, hold the matching weapon, rod, or boat and press Z or C to cycle appearances. Switching skins does not change an installed sight or other attachment. Full control list
Related achievements
| Achievement | What to do |
|---|---|
| All in | Win a green roulette bet. Stake size does not matter. |
| GOLD GOLD GOLD | Unlock a legendary skin from the Reel of Fortune. |
| Rich! Millionaire | Sell one item worth 100,000 or more. A grilled Tuna that wins green is the usual method; the sale itself is required. |
Practical rules
- Treat roulette as a spike on money you can lose, not as the main farm. Catching, grilling, and selling remains the reliable loop.
- If the Reel of Fortune screen freezes or looks blank, especially at 4K, restart the game. Patch 1.0.5 already addressed skins that failed to display during the roll at 4K.
- In co-op, decide who throws before you spend a Drip creature or duplicate trophy. Only that player receives the skin.
Quick answers
What does the roulette table pay?
Red and black pay 2×, green pays 35×. The table takes items as bets, not only money.
How do I unlock skins?
Use the Reel of Fortune: spend Drip (真・潮系) creatures or spare boss trophies, then press Z or C in game to cycle between unlocked skins.
Is the casino on every island?
No. Lucky Bait Casino is on Rocks Island and is optional — it does not unlock the next island.
