Combat preparation
Buy the $150 Shotgun; it deals heavy damage at close range against the boss and its small summons. A shotgun deals its best damage when fired from close range
Upgrade bullet damage at the bullet-upgrade station as high as you can afford; the forest island caps upgrades at tier 6. The ammunition case sells upgrades that increase firearm damage
The Shotgun has no Extended Mag slot, so there is no magazine upgrade for this fight.
Stock several cheap fish in your inventory with the Beginner Lure and eat them to restore health during the fight.

Remain on dry ground and use the trees to interrupt the Giant Piranha’s attacks. Do not fight from the water or stand directly beside it, because the fish can launch out of the water toward you.
