Guide coverage: patches through 1.0.9
5. Volcano
This is the final island. The ending requires two whale fights: defeat the Bowhead Whale, carry it to the crater, and then defeat its mutated form.
Main objective:Complete the five-creature request to receive the Fish Bucket, defeat the Bowhead Whale, throw its body into the crater, defeat the mutated whale, and sail home.
Main walkthrough
- Use the Scientific Lure for the island’s regular fish. Complete the island NPC request that asks for five creatures to receive the Fish Bucket needed for the Bowhead Whale.
- Install the Fish Bucket on your fishing rod and catch the Bowhead Whale. Before the fight, place food on the ground near the arena so you can eat without spending time changing inventory slots.
- During the first fight, stay close beneath the whale while it remains on the ground. Move away when it launches or prepares a body slam. After defeating it, pick up the body and carry it along the path to the crater rim.
- Throw the Bowhead Whale into the crater to begin the mutated fight. The mutated whale creates lava pools, so watch the ground and move to a clear area whenever lava appears. Stay close while it is grounded, but move away when it launches.
- After the mutated whale is defeated, board the military boat and drive back to the mainland. This completes the main story and starts the ending credits.
How to continue:Drive the military boat back to the mainland to finish the story. You can continue using the same save afterward to complete collections and achievements.
