How to Fish: Seahorse — Bait, Island & Price
Seahorse is the third Desert Island carrot trade creature, and the strangest stat line in the game: a 400 kg base weight on a creature that only sells for $100.
| Island | 3. Desert, 4. Rocks |
|---|---|
| Bait | Standard Lure, Professional Lure ($15/$50) |
| Base sale price | $100 |
| Base weight | 400 kg |
| Health | 350 HP |
| Fights back | No, it does not attack players |
| Endangered | No |
| Quest creature | Yes — keep it for an island hand-in |
How to catch Seahorse
- Seahorse appears on Desert Island and again on Rocks Island — the only non-boss creature that spans two islands.
- It is one of the few catches that accepts two different lures: Standard Lure ($15) on Desert, or Professional Lure ($50, lost only 25%) later.
- Catch the normal, non-Drip variant for the carrot trade with the desert tourist.
- Do not confuse the trade with the grill unlock: the Blue Shark quest on Desert Island is a separate objective.
What Seahorse is for
Carrot trade on Desert Island. Later, on Rocks Island, it becomes ordinary income — and at 350 health it is a real fight with a fresh Desert loadout.
Common mistakes
- Reading 400 kg as "very expensive". Sale price comes from the base price ($100), so a Seahorse is not a money maker despite the weight column.
- Selling it on Desert Island before the trade, then needing another one.
Quick answers
Why does the Seahorse weigh 400 kg but sell for only $100?
Base weight and base price are separate values. Weight scales the final sale price within a species; it does not make a cheap species expensive.
Where else can I catch a Seahorse?
Rocks Island, the fourth island. There it also accepts the Professional Lure, which is the cheaper option by then.
Seahorse on Desert Island
Seahorse is listed under island 3 in the five-island campaign order. The island walkthrough covers the local quest, the shop stock, and the boss you have to beat before the next island opens. Full Desert walkthrough
